I seek to express the subtle aspects of our world. Trained in engraving at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Versailles, I devote myself to this technique, as well as to oil painting. My engravings and paintings depict interior landscapes or portraits, and take as their pretext the force of natural elements (mountains, sea, clouds, storms...), that force which comes to strike and create the crack. It's through the crack that light can slip through. I've been greatly influenced by Friedrich and his notion of the sublime, Zao Wu ki and Turner... I make monotypes from copper plates that I engrave. These techniques require real expertise, and convey a sense of mystery and wonder. No two works are the same, and each one is a new discovery.
