The Departure

Created for the 2022 Venice Biennale, the painting features the Palazzo Ducale, Piazza San Marco with its classic lampposts and a Belgian "Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits" train. Love is at the centre of this story, wedding dress, but the train is there, ready to leave, the suitcase on the platform. The start of a long journey into the other world. Laly Blue is on the journey and so is her new boyfriend.
