This work was born of my encounter with a 1950s Polish bi-objective camera called "Start", sensitive to the poetic charm of the defects left on the film (scratches, jagged edges, stains, etc.), as metaphors for our own fragilities.
It results from a fusion of two photographs : one, black and white silver (taken with this old camera), highlights the beauty of imperfections ; the other, digital, brings color and contemporaneity.
This silver-digital composition combines two eras, two technologies, two aesthetics.
"Re-Start 2" was awarded the Art Talent Fair prize in November 2024 by the Moho Gallery in Padua. The International Prize Artists at the Jubilee was awarded to me for the complete "Re-Start" series, in December 2024, by the Fondazione Effetto Arte in Rome.
