After a rich career in a completely different world, I picked up where I left off in my youth: pursuing my passion for art. It is only since 2019 that I have been exhibiting my paintings – always figurative, always oil on canvas. My work was recently described as follows: ‘In his work, he explores gentle, psychologically charged moments in which people balance between presence and absence. The same curiosity and sensitivity that drove him to poetry and vernissages as a young man now colour his paintings. They do not shout, but whisper — and allow you to encounter yourself unexpectedly.’ I live and work in Rijmenam.
