Two Perspectives; One Passion

In the world of photography, some artist couples stand out for their creative bond and shared vision. Such is the case with Benoît Feron and Anne-Françoise Tasnier, a duo of Belgian photographers whose collaborative work reflects a profound admiration for the diversity of Earth and its inhabitants.

Benoît Feron, an indefatigable traveler for over two decades, has dedicated himself to capturing the essence of humanity through his lens. His exploration of different human "ethnicities" has taken him through the fascinating lands of the Rift Valley, where he immortalized the great tribes residing there. His portfolio is rich in striking portraits, highlighting the richness and eccentricity of the encountered peoples. Among his notable works are "Portraits of the Rift" (2016) and "Journeys" (2021), the latter supported by TMB, offering a captivating dive into his timeless encounters. His work, marked by an unrelenting quest for authenticity, reflects a fascination with the cultural and human diversity that characterizes our world.

Anne-Françoise Tasnier, on the other hand, brings to this partnership a particular sensitivity shaped by her background in photography and political science. Her gaze is nourished by the influence of history on our contemporary consciousness, a reflection she explores through her travels and encounters. Her photographic approach is deeply introspective, seeking to capture the very essence of what moves her. She finds in nature, its fauna and flora, as well as in human interactions, an infinite source of inspiration and mystery.

Together, Benoît and Anne-Françoise share a consuming passion for wildlife photography, particularly in Africa. Their collaboration has taken them to many countries, from the majestic savannah of Kenya to the desert expanses of Namibia, through the jungles of Benin and the vast plains of Botswana. Their joint work bears witness to their commitment to giving voice to nature and the peoples who are its guardians, through poignant documentaries and innovative projects.

Among their most remarkable achievements is the photobook "Mundari: Journey to the Heart of Cattle Camps in South Sudan," the result of their close collaboration and immersion in this little-known world. But their creativity does not stop there: with "Sense of Nature," a project exploring an abstract vision of nature, they push the boundaries of photographic art, offering an original and immersive perspective on our environment.

Each composition consists of several distinct vertical elements, each measuring 20cm x 80cm. The originality of the concept is that it's your wall that serves as the matting. The vertical elements are made of semi-gloss Chromalux, an ultra-lightweight and highly durable aluminum substrate that allows for very easy installation in a variety of locations (even outdoors). Each composition is signed and numbered, limited to 15 copies.

In addition to their artistic work, Benoît and Anne-Françoise are also passionate educators, regularly organizing photography workshops in Africa and beyond. Their desire to share their knowledge and love for photography is a testament to their commitment to this art form, but also to the preservation of our planet and its diversity.

Together, Benoît Feron and Anne-Françoise Tasnier form an indispensable duo in the world of photography, uniting their talents and passions to capture the beauty of the world in all its forms, and inviting us to look beyond the lens to discover the true essence of our humanity.
