One after another

'One after another' is a unique glass sculpture made of 3 separate cast glass pieces, united on a inox structure.

The title occurred to me after the sculpture was finished: looking at it, I could see stepstones in a japanese garden, and walking on those one step at a time ...it is very often my way of moving forward in difficult times: one step after another ...

It ir originally made to be set outside, in a garden or on a terrace, but it would also find its place in a big entrance hall or an interior with high ceilings and generous volumes

Characteristics

To make the glass pieces I have combined 2 different techniques : the blue lines that appear in the sculpture have been drawn one by one on the torch beforehand (so called flamework). The finished piece has been cast with hot glass in a sand mould (so called sand casting)

Approximate dimensions are 75cm wide by 120cm high. Each glass piece is between 2 and 3cm thick

Care and use

This sculpture can stay outside in all weather conditions, nevertheless be cautious not to spray cold water on it when it has been in the sun, in order to avoid thermal schock.

It can be cleaned with water and dishwashing liquid
